Friday Greetings,

Howell Street will be closed on Monday, August 16 at 7 a.m.  The road will be closed to motorists on Howell Street between 27th to 32nd Avenues.  The closure will last approximately one day and will be opened to motorists by Tuesday morning.

Please note:
-        A detour will be set up to guide through traffic around this closure.
-        All residents will have full access to their homes during the entire closure.
-        No utilities will be affected at any time during this work.
-        The Macken Park parking along Howell will still be accessible.
-        Crews will open the street once they leave for the day.

Tyler Merrigan will start in the Police Department on Monday, August 16 as a Reserve Dispatcher.  Welcome aboard!

This week the NKC Fire Department paramedics completed two days of training on Emergency Pediatric Care that was hosted on-site and evaluated by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) evaluators. The goal is for NKC FD to become a training site recognized by the NAEMT.

Join Parks & Recreation for tonight’s Friday Night Concert featuring Riding’ The Storm Out, a Tribute to REO Speed Wagon.  The concert starts at 7 p.m. in the Macken Park Pavilion.

Parks & Recreation invites you to celebrate the new school year! Get your snack on with hotdogs and chips, make a craft, check out NKC Fire's Ladder Truck and Ambulance, and get your Back-to-School picture taken at our photo op! Then stay to watch Raya and the Last Dragon at dusk. The first 50 kids will receive a giveaway from McConnell & Associates.

Help for local families struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic is available through a program being administered by Clay County.
