The goal of the North Kansas City Source Water Protection Plan (SWPP) is to ensure the long-term sustainability and purity of our community's drinking water. Source water protection is an important component of a multi-faceted approach – along with
effective treatment, distribution, and monitoring – to provide high quality and reliable drinking
water to the public. The City's Source Water Protection Plan (SWPP) has been developed in accordance with applicable regulations as part of an overall program to continue to provide reliable drinking water to our customers. The program involves identifying potential risks that could impact the
drinking water supply and seek to manage those risks, when possible, to maintain supply quality
and quantity.
