The City of North Kansas City has completed a draft Wastewater Master Plan to evaluate the condition, capacity, and long-term needs of the City’s sanitary sewer collection system. The wastewater system consists of underground sewer pipes, manholes, and pumping stations that collect wastewater from homes, businesses, and industries and convey it for regional treatment.

The Master Plan evaluates how the system performs under normal and wet weather conditions, identifies areas where stormwater inflow places additional demand on the system, and recommends strategies to improve system reliability, reduce the risk of backups, and support future development and redevelopment.
