Each year the Clay County Special Road District selects streets within North Kansas City for their rehabilitation and resurfacing program.

Although the Special Road District works directly with the city to select which streets need resurfacing work, it is a county entity that works separately from the city’s projects programs.

The 2026 Mill & Overlay Schedule can be found below. 

FINISHED: Buchanan Street from 23rd Ave to 31st Ave. Alleys between Howell & Gentry, Gentry & Fayette, Fayette & Erie, Clay & Buchanan, and north alley of Armour Rd (Gentry to Swift)

June 12: Pave - Clay St (Armour to 20th and 21st to 23rd) and 23rd Ave (Burlington to Swift) 

June 15: Pave - Clay St (20th to 21st), Buchanan St (20th to 23rd), and 21st Ave (Burlington to Swift)

June 16: Pave - Buchanan St (Armour to 20th) and 20th Ave (Burlington to Swift)
