The Line Creek and Missouri River Trails are the backbone of a multi-jurisdictional trail system in Platte County that connects Kansas City, North Kansas City, and Riverside. But there are several barriers to fully connecting the trails together including highways, railroads, and steep river bluffs. The goal of the Missouri River North Trail project is to determine how to connect the existing trails in Platte, Clay, and Jackson Counties to each other and provide access to the parks and destinations in the area. This system will also provide a multimodal transportation network in the heart of the region that connects residents to employment centers.
