KCATA Regional Bus System

KCATA is the one-stop website for trip planning, maps, schedules, and everything you need to ride the bus in the Greater Kansas City Metro area. Several RideKC routes serve North Kansas City. For more information, visit www.kcata.org or call 816-221-0660.


GEST Ride Share Program

The City has partnered with GEST, an on-demand, door-to-door ride shuttle service designed to make local travel simpler, more accessible, and more connected for residents, workers, and visitors.

Key Service Highlights:

  • On-demand, door-to-door rides within the GEST service area (NKC, Gladstone, Liberty, Riverside, Parkville, and select essential destinations in nearby Northland communities.
  • $3 fare per ride, each way 
  • Hybrid SUV vehicles
  • Service operated by trained GEST Driver Ambassadors
  • Designed to support residents, workers, and businesses.

Clay County Senior Services Transportation Assistance

Clay County Senior Services partners with several providers to offer low-cost transportation options for residents 60 years and older. 

  • Service begins at 6 a.m. and rides must be completed by 5 p.m.
  • Individuals may use this service up to 3 round trips per month. 
  • $7 rides per person/per ride if you are ambulatory.
  • $10 rides per person/per ride if you need a wheelchair lift.

Electric Bikes & Scooters

Shared-use scooters and electric bicycles are available around town to serve as last-mile connectors, linking people to places. Bike Share KC has several bike hubs located throughout the City, where users can rent bikes to travel the City via its many bike lanes.  You can also rent a Bird Scooter to get around NKC.


Carpooling and Commuter Resources

The Mid-America Regional Council hosts the regional carpool ride matching website at www.ridesharekc.org. Find carpool partners, see bus routes and bike lanes, and sign up for the emergency Guaranteed Ride Home program. Carpooling can save you money and reduce traffic congestion.
