Week in Review 3/30/18
Posted on 03/30/2018
Friday Greetings,

We would like to welcome our two new firefighters Cory Friend and Tyler Roy – welcome aboard!  Their first day with us will be Monday, April 2.

Earlier this week, the City's tree planting contractor completed the 2018 Tree Planting Project.  A total of 75 trees of various species were planted along street right-of-ways, many of which were planted where an ash tree was removed over the past year.  The City's policy is to diversify the type of trees planted to minimize the impact if there is a disease to a certain species.  Another policy that is followed is referred to as “The Right Tree, in the Right Place,” which means trees that grow over 30 feet in height are not planted under power lines.

The type and number of each tree planted this year are: 27 Lacebark Elms; 17 Lilacs; 3 Serviceberrys; 12 Hophornbeams; 12 Tupelos; and 2 Sugar Maples. The new trees will be added to the City’s Tree Inventory.
