• On Tuesday, July 7, we had the honor of celebrating Patrick Bradley and Eric Chambers as they graduated from the Paramedic Program through the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District.  Becoming a paramedic requires countless hours of classroom instruction, clinical rotations, field experience, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication to reaching this milestone. Congratulations, and a photo is attached.

   

• Tonight, Jamogi and The Jammers will be taking the stage at the Festival Shelter in Macken Park from 6-9 p.m. for Friday Night Concerts.  We hope to see you there!

   

• Swift Kick Watch Party is TOMORROW (7/11), and we can't wait to welcome you for a full day of soccer, community, and summer fun! Bring your lawn chair or blanket, wear your favorite team's colors, and get ready to cheer alongside friends, family, and fellow fans.

• Join Mayor Smith for a NorthTown Hall on Tuesday, July 14, at 7 p.m. at the Commons at Cinder Block Brewing.  NorthTown Halls are open forums for all community members to attend and ask any questions. 

   

• Join the NKC New Neighbors Ad Hoc Committee on Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Parks & Recreation Center for a Missouri Legislative Recap.  Senator Nurrenbern and Representative Woods will give short talks about the most recent legislative session, then answer your questions about statewide issues. 

   

• The City of North Kansas City invites you to share your opinions about proposed projects across the Kansas City region funded by your tax dollars, including a grant proposal submitted by the City. The Mid-America Regional Council serves as the metropolitan planning organization for the Kansas City region. We work with many partners on transportation improvements in the region. • It’s block party season!  A block party is a great way to celebrate and encourage stronger communities.  North Kansas City residents may apply for a grant to host a neighborhood block party.  Each grant will reimburse eligible expenses up to $400 per event.  For more information on how to apply for a permit for a block party, please visit https://www.nkc.org/our-city/register-to-for/neighborhood-block-party-grants.

   

• Mark your calendar for National Night Out on Friday, August 14, from 4:30–7 p.m. at Macken Park!  Hosted by the North Kansas City Police Department, National Night Out is a free, family-friendly event that brings neighbors, local businesses, and first responders together to build stronger community partnerships and promote public safety. Enjoy an evening of interactive activities, K-9 demonstrations, police vehicles and specialty units, community booths, games, and more. It's a great opportunity to meet your local officers, learn about the services available in our community, and spend time with friends and neighbors. We look forward to seeing you at Macken Park!
