Friday Greetings,
- The new Story Walk was installed this week at the northwestern end of Macken Park, sponsored by the NKC Library, and will feature new stories throughout the year to keep the experience fresh and engaging for visitors of all ages.
- Join the North Kansas City Community Enrichment Advisory Committee (CEAC) for a day of service, snacks, and community THIS Saturday, April 18, from 8:30 a.m. to Noon! Celebrate Earth Day with kid-friendly activities, snacks, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, local eco-organizations, and custom event bandanas. Participants will meet at City Hall, 2010 Howell Street, to receive City-provided equipment (gloves, grabbers, and bags) and then head to designated cleanup locations. For questions about the event, please contact Megan Summers at 816-274-6006 or msummers@nkc.org.
- Join the NKC Library on Monday, April 20, from 10-11 a.m. for some bug and spring-themed activities perfect for preschool-age kids. We will read bug stories, make some bug crafts, and play some bug games.
- The NKC Police Department is teaming up with the Northland Assistance Center to host a food drive during Coffee with a Cop as part of Starbucks’ “Month of Good.” The event will be on Friday, April 24, from 9-11 a.m. at the Starbucks on 1930 Diamond Pkwy. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate, and we hope to see you there!
