Mayor Smith is seeking interested parties to fill a vacant City Council seat in Ward 4. This is the seat vacated by Council member Clarke, and it will have a term of 1-year. If you would like to serve in this role, and you have lived in Ward 4 for one year or more, please send an email to mayor@nkc.org with answers to the following questions by 4/14/26:

1. Why do you want to serve as a member of the City Council?

2. What skills, experiences, and/or perspectives do you possess, which will be beneficial to the City Council?

3. Anything else you would like to share?

4. What is your street address? (to validate eligibility)

Also, attach a resume to the email, if you have one available.

Mayor Smith hopes to review applications, interview qualified applicants, and have his nomination ready for the 4/21/26 Council meeting.
