Friday Greetings,
- On Monday, January 5, Alan Untrauer took the Oath of Office, being sworn in as a Police Officer. Officer Untrauer has previous experience in Lathrop and Lake Winnebago. Officer Untrauer has already started his field training program. On Monday, January 12, Dylan Adams will start as a police cadet for the NKC Police Department. Welcome aboard!
- On Thursday, January 8, Officer Jim Ham retired from the Police Department after 30+ years of service. Before working for North Kansas City, Officer Ham proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corp. Officer Ham served as a patrol officer, bicycle officer, COPPS officer, detective, and performed many other ancillary duties during his career. We wish Officer Ham, and his family the best in well-earned retirement.
- On Friday, January 9, Major Jim Bagley retired from the Police Department after 35+ years of service. Major Bagley served as a patrol officer, traffic officer, Patrol Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant, and Major, commanding both the Patrol and Support Services Divisions. Major Bagley is a graduate of the Missouri Police Chiefs’ Command College and a graduate of the 260th session of the FBI National Academy in 2015. We wish Major Bagley the best in his well-earned retirement.
- After 20 years of dedicated service, we congratulate Kris Smith on her well-earned retirement from the City’s IT Division. Throughout her career, Kris was the behind-the-scenes expert who kept the systems and devices we rely on every day running smoothly. Her knowledge, problem-solving skills, and commitment to keeping our technology in great working order helped ensure staff could effectively serve the public. We are grateful for her years of service and wish her all the best in this next chapter!
- We have two remaining Christmas tree pickups, January 13 & 20. To be eligible for collection, trees must not have tinsel, lights, or any items not originally part of the tree. Place the tree where you usually place your yard waste.
