Police Officer Salary $52,000 to $86,140*

*The City of North Kansas City has approved a new salary scale, effective January 1, 2026.  $68,660-$101,940.

If you are not currently P.O.S.T. certified, the city will pay for the Police Academy tuition while paying you $23.75 per hour, $49,400 annually. Effective 1/1/2026 the hourly rate will be $31.74 per hour, $66,019.20 annually. 

Qualifications:

  • Must Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must Possess or Be Able to Obtain a Valid Missouri Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment
