Civic Canvas Public Art Dedication & Art Walk

The Tim C. Crummett Family Charitable Fund Projects Committee is proud to launch Civic Canvas, a community-driven public art initiative designed to beautify North Kansas City.

The Tim C. Crummett Family Charitable Fund Projects Committee is proud to launch Civic Canvas, a community-driven public art initiative designed to beautify North Kansas City, while celebrating the creativity of our residents.

Through this project, eight utility boxes along Armour Road and one at 18th & Swift will be transformed into vibrant works of art that reflect the spirit, history, pride, and hopes for the future of Northtown.

This collaborative effort brings together NKC artists of all ages across our community. We are partnering with the NKC School District to feature artwork from students at Briarcliff Elementary, Crestview Elementary, Eastgate 6th Grade Center, Northgate Middle School, and North Kansas City High School. Each box will showcase original artwork that turns everyday infrastructure into a colorful “civic canvas” for the entire community to enjoy.

You are invited to the public art dedication and art walk on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to Noon, starting at City Hall. For more information visit www.nkc.org/our-city/public-art.
