North Kansas City will attract art, jazz and classic car enthusiasts to one free outdoor festival on Saturday, August 14.  Second Saturdays in Northtown will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. just south of the Armour Road and Fayette Street intersection in the City's downtown.  The art market begins at 9:00 a.m. and the Jazz Jam, hosted by Mike Ning, Sherry Jones and friends, runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The classic cars arrive mid-afternoon and will continue to circulate through the display are into the evening.  Area organizations will provide food and drink for sale in and around the festival area.  This event will continue to be held the second Saturday of each month through September of 2010.

Earlier this year, the new art market was added to Northtown's perennial favorites, previously known as the Northtown Cruise Nights and Northtown Jazz Jam.  This combination has helped enlarge the audience appeal to make the event a regional attraction.
