Friday Greetings,

  • With great regret and with the utmost concern for public safety, the Snake Saturday Board & Committees have canceled the 36th Annual Snake Saturday Parade and Festival.With the support of their sponsors, North Kansas City Hospital and the City of North Kansas City, they will still award every charity who entered the parade or charity cook-off prize money. The Snake Saturday Board & Committees hope to see you in 2021!

  • On Monday and Tuesday, Officer Jason Smith, Officer Mike McNamee, and Chief Kevin Freeman were joined by Deputy Carter from the Clay County Sheriff’s Department for the annual "Talk with a Cop" program at the North Kansas City High School.This program allows American Citizen students to ask local police officers anything they want to ask in an open and honest environment.This program is always well received and enjoyed by all of the participants.


  • Municipal Services welcomes two new maintenance workers to their department. Brian Creek started on Monday, March 9 and Bruce Hale will start on Monday, March 16.Welcome aboard!


  • Staff has been in communications with public health officials and emergency management professionals to monitor and respond to the global COVID-19 or coronavirus outbreak.The Clay County Health Center is providing up-to-date information on their website at https://www.clayhealth.com/279/COVID-19-2019-Novel-Coronavirus


Clay County Health Center advises the following:


  • If you are feeling sick and have reason to believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call your health care provider for instructions. Do not go to the emergency room or the health department for testing.


  • There are currently zero confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Clay County. However, the situation here in the U.S. and abroad is changing daily.


  • Please see the information below from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to learn more about what COVID-19 is, how it spreads, travel guidance, information for health care providers and more.


  • More questions about COVID-19? Call the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) hotline at 877-435-8411. The hotline is being operated by medical professionals and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
