Friday Greetings,

Mayor DeLong, Councilmember Clevenger, City Clerk Crystal Doss, and Interim City Administrator Kim Nakahodo attended the 87th Annual Missouri Municipal League Annual Conference in St. Louis. At the Conference, Mayor DeLong was elected to continue his service on the Missouri Municipal League's Board of Directors.  Congratulations!

North Kansas City Police and Fire Departments assisted with the Briarcliff Elementary at Norclay Walk to School Day event this morning at Macken Park.

Congratulations to Sue Renevier who is retiring after 15 years of service to the City.  Best wishes on your future endeavors!  

The City is conducting an East//West Connection Study to determine how to provide a safe crossing on foot or by bike under I-35 on Armour Road for NKC residents, employees, and visitors. Please complete the online survey (https://forms.office.com/r/5cxLkz4JFE) to share your thoughts and opinions. Your responses will help shape the future of Armour Road with safety and accessibility at the forefront. First Baptist Church of North Kansas City and the North Kansas City Police Department will co-host an event during the second annual National Faith & Blue weekend on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from Noon to 2 p.m. at 2205 Iron Street.  

Dress your pups in costume for a day out at Waggin’ Trail Dog Park for Howl-O-Ween on Saturday, October 9 from 1-2:30 p.m!  Pups can participate in a costume contest, raffles, photo op, vendors, and more. Each dog will receive a trick-or-treat bag with a donation. NO CHILDREN under the age of 5 are allowed inside the designated dog area. North Kansas City Parks & Recreation is hosting the Ghouls & Goblins Costume Contest in conjunction with the Spooky Snake Saturday Stationary Parade! Contest will be held Saturday, October 23 from 10-11 a.m. at the Festival Shelter in Macken Park for ages 4-13. Contest participation is free with registration. Help for local families struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic is available through a program being administered by Clay County. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program can help families who rent their homes get caught up on past due rent and utility bills.  If you are eligible, make sure to fill out an interest form by clicking the button on our Rental Assistance Portal, which can be found here: https://www.claycountymo.gov/transparency/erap.
