Friday Greetings,

The NKCFD Paramedics completed 16 hours of Advanced Medical Life Support Training this week. Topics included respiratory, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders, environmental-related emergencies, neurological disorders and infectious diseases.

Symphony in the Park that was scheduled for Friday, October 15 at Macken Park has been canceled due to low temperatures.

North Kansas City Parks & Recreation is hosting the Ghouls & Goblins Costume Contest in conjunction with the Spooky Snake Saturday Stationary Parade! Contest will be held Saturday, October 23 from 10-11 a.m. at the Festival Shelter in Macken Park for ages 4-13. Contest participation is free with registration. Grab your girlfriends for an evening dedicated to women’s health and wellness for a Ladies Night Out on Friday, November 5 from 5:30-8 p.m. Enjoy massages, educational booths, wine, and hors d'oeuvres. North Kansas City Parks and Recreation is taking donations for hats and scarves for our Feel the Warmth project! We are accepting hats and scarves, either handmade or store bought (with tags). Please turn your donations in at the Parks & Recreation Center by Friday, November 12. The week of November 22, anyone who needs a little extra warmth for the winter season will be able to find them available on the fence line of our local parks: Waggin' Trail Dog Park, Macken Park, and Dagg Park. Help for local families struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic is available through a program being administered by Clay County. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program can help families who rent their homes get caught up on past due rent and utility bills.  If you are eligible, make sure to fill out an interest form by clicking the button on our Rental Assistance Portal, which can be found here: https://www.claycountymo.gov/transparency/erap.
