Municipal Court
The Judge and Prosecutor are only available during court and will be able to answer questions at that time.
Traffic tickets must be paid in person or by mail with money order during regular business hours. Online credit card
payment options are also available.
You may call prior to the court date to request the first continuance. Any additional continuances require a court appearance before the Judge.
For dismissal consideration, you may bring your current original insurance card to the court office during business hours before your scheduled court date. It must be the insurance card for the vehicle listed on the citation and cover the day of the stop.

Payment of fines are due by the given court date. Extension to pay or payment plans may be discussed with the Judge on your court date.
Police

Come to the main entrance of the police station with proof of ownership (i.e. title, registration) and a valid photo id. You will be issued a release form that authorizes the tow company to release your vehicle.
Recovered property not being held as evidence is kept for 90 days. To claim recovered property you will need a valid picture ID and proof of ownership.
Property recovered as evidence in a State case must be held until the case is disposed. Permission is required from the Clay County Prosecutor's office before property will be released.
Property recovered in a North Kansas City case will be held until the case is disposed in City Court.
